Our Services:

Precise and in-depth accounts
We complete annual accounts and financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
We are unique in that we include a Herd Valuation analysis in our accounts package.
We present our accounts in a clear way, but filled with lots of valuable information. We understand that as agricultural and horticultural business owners you need to have a general picture of how each aspect of your business is performing. We show you this through the enterprise performance report sheets included in your annual accounts.
Tax returns and tax planning advice
We offer a complete tax return service covering self-assessment, partnership, limited company and VAT returns, including online submissions.
As a practice, we believe that many people in the agricultural and horticultural industry are paying too much tax. We are very proactive in finding solutions to your tax problems and have several tax specialists on our team.
We deal with all types of tax that affect you and your business, including corporation, capital gains, inheritance, self-assessment and VAT.
Many agricultural and horticultural businesses are centred on a family. This is why we also offer inheritance tax planning, and are able to complete working tax credits, and child tax credits forms for you. In addition to this, we can guide you through the probate process, filling out the necessary paperwork and liaising with HM Revenue and Customs on your behalf.
Business reports and financial projections
Business reports, cash flow advice and financial projects not only aid you in making decisions or changes within your business; they can also help you when applying for bank loans and mortgages.
We can give you the advice you need on how to expand or move your business in new directions.
Grants and subsidies within England and Wales
As a team of agricultural advisors we ensure that we keep up to date with all government funding available. This means that our clients get as much help as they need. We are able to complete all necessary forms for subsidies (for example the single payment scheme) and help you apply for any grants that may be available, including the Rural Developments Programme for England.
Steve Hicks, the senior partner is a mentor under the Agriplan Cymru/Farming Connect programme for the Welsh Assembly Government and is able to advise you on this process.
Accounts Procedure
* Prior to your year-end, you will receive a stock valuation form (if applicable to your business) and paperwork check list to complete.
* Your paperwork, together with valuation sheets will be collected from you at your convenience, after your year-end.
* Once a draft set of accounts has been completed, we will then visit you at your farm with the accounts to discuss their content in detail.
* We guarantee that within 60 days of you providing us with all your books and records we will present you with your final accounts for signature. This is on the basis that you answer any queries quickly, and have provided us with complete information as needed.
Payroll services
Payroll administration can be complex and time consuming. We offer the full range of services, from registering as an employer with HMRC, advising on deadlines and responsibilities, to producing reports, payslips, P45’s and P60’s, and advising you on payments due.
There can be many pitfalls surrounding employment and your duty as an employer; therefore we also offer access to our external HR advice, as part of our service to you.
Farming contracts
As a firm, we have extensive knowledge about contracts such as farm business tenancies, contract farming agreements, and partnership agreements. We are also able to help with dissolving partnerships and limited companies, as well as bringing in new partners and directors as they younger generations join the family business.
Setting up and running limited companies
Thinking of setting up a limited company? We can do all of the necessary work for this for you.
We will search out the company name that suits you, fill in all the necessary forms and generally provide any help that you may need while setting up your new company. Our knowledge of limited companies can give you the peace of mind knowing that everything is being done correctly with only a minimum effort on your part, and without the knowledge of involving solicitors and dealing with third party companies.
Once your company is up and running, we can then complete all of the necessary compliance work. This includes keeping up with the range of deadlines throughout the year, submitting annual returns, company tax returns and full and abbreviated sets of accounts.
We are also able to change shareholdings, company names and any other work that may arise with regards your limited company.
